One of Vancouver’s most popular matcha shops is officially celebrating its return to Cambie Village with a grand opening event and a pile of freebies.

Paragon Tea Room is holding the grand opening of its Cambie 3.0 location on February 19.

The Paragon team told Noms Magazine that they will be giving away red pockets with lucky draw prizes to the first 1,000 customers (with purchase) to mark the occasion.

Prizes include $100 gift cards, $50 gift cards, free 100g bags of matcha, BOGO drink coupons, and 50% off sitewide coupons, among other gifts.

The Cambie 3.0 location has already been in a soft opening phase since mid-January, but the grand opening makes it official.

For anyone who has followed Paragon’s journey, this moment has been a long time coming.

The tea room first opened in 2019, quickly becoming one of Vancouver’s go-to spots for stone-milled Japanese teas made with teaspresso machines.

Their original location on Cambie Street near 2nd Avenue was lost when the landlord sold the space.

Paragon relocated to a second Cambie Village spot at 3361 Cambie Street in 2022, but was forced to close again at the end of February 2025 when the landlord moved forward with redevelopment plans.

That made it two displacements in just a few years for a shop that had built a devoted local following.

While searching for a new permanent home, Paragon opened a pop-up inside CF Pacific Centre in April 2025 to keep serving its downtown customers.

The brand also expanded to Richmond, where a larger cafe opened in fall 2025, and now has a location at YVR airport as well.

The new Cambie 3.0 spot sits in the former Xing Fu Tang unit, right beside Street Hawker Turbo.

Inside, the space features a long curved wood counter, warm lighting, and teal wall accents that nod to Paragon’s signature colour.

One notable change from the previous location is that tables have been removed in favour of more bench seating.

The menu carries the usual lineup of tea mistos and bubble waffles, with a new addition of shortbread sandwiches designed to mimic a “tea flight” in flavours like HK Milk Tea, Jasmine Oolong, Matcha, London Fog, and Raspberry.

If you want a shot at one of those 1,000 red pockets, you will want to get there early on February 19.
