Richmond’s New Korean Street Food Spot Already Drawing Lines for Salt Bread

If you have been craving fresh salt bread in Richmond, you are not alone.

We stopped by The Seoulful during its soft opening and found a full afternoon line of people who clearly had the same idea.

There is something fun about seeing a brand new spot already buzzing with locals.

You can feel the excitement, especially when everyone is waiting for the next tray of warm bread to come out.

The Seoulful officially soft opened this month on No. 3 Road, taking over the former iTofu Dessert unit (beside Big Way).

For now, the shop is operating in pick up mode only, and the space is just a small front area with a counter.

It is a tight squeeze when the line builds, but the team is working quickly to keep things moving.

They are planning a full dine in renovation that will open next year, and that will make the space feel very different from what you see right now.

Even with the limited setup, the menu is full of the brand’s signatures.

Salt bread is the star, and there are nine flavours in rotation.

By the time we arrived, Dubai chocolate and truffle butter were already sold out.

That is how fast people are coming through.

We went with matcha custard cream, fresh milk cream, and earl grey milk.

All three had that soft, lightly sweet dough with a generous ribbon of cream tucked in the centre.

One thing we noticed is that the size of each flavour does seem a bit off, with the Fresh Cream one way larger than the Matcha Custard one.

But each has a very generous amount of filling.

Because of the popularity, they are constantly baking new batches.

If your flavour is still in the oven, you might have to wait a bit.

But honestly, that moment when a hot tray comes out feels like everyone collectively holds their breath.

And if you want the more limited flavours, you will want to get there early just in case they sell out again.

Beyond the salt bread, the full menu also includes kimbap, sandwiches, and tteokbokki.

You can spot the large posters of their cheese pull tteokbokki from outside before you even step in.

This soft opening phase will run through January while renovations continue.

A full dine in relaunch is set for April 2026, which will give the brand the space and atmosphere it deserves.

For now, The Seoulful is already settling into Richmond’s food scene with a strong start.

If you want to try their salt bread before it becomes even harder to get, this soft opening window is your best chance.

The Seoulful now joins other recently opened Richmond food spots like Prunus, Max’s To Go, and 88 Malaysian Crystal BBQ.
