Hold on! It looks like Meet Fresh might not be gone after all.
Back in March 2025, we shared the unfortunate news that both of Meet Fresh’s BC locations (Robson Street and Richmond’s Union Square) had quietly shut down.
Both locations were also tagged as “permanently closed” on Google.
It was a bit of a gut punch, especially for longtime fans of their taro balls, herbal jelly, and signature shaved ice.
But now, there’s been a new development.

While their old Union Square unit is being taken over by a new hot pot spot called U Town Hot Pot, it looks like Meet Fresh is staging a return… just a few steps away.
We spotted Meet Fresh signage up at the recently closed Pomona Cafe unit.
Over on Chinese social media, the Meet Fresh team also responded to a question about the Robson Street location, describing it as “temporarily closed”.
That means there may still be hope for a downtown comeback too.
As many locals know, Union Square (affectionately nicknamed “Diabetes Plaza” by Chinese community) is a constantly evolving hub.
Not only does it have the most bubble tea shops concentrated in one area, this plaza always has something new (ie. turnover) going on.
Meet Fresh now joins a flurry of upcoming new spots coming to Union Square, including U Town Hot Pot, Molly Tea, Xin Snacks, and Blooming Spice Fish House.
There is no information about when the Meet Fresh will open.
