As the weather gets colder, everyone is looking for a comforting bowl of hot noodle soup.
Well, at least we are anyway.
But if you live in Richmond, you’ll soon be welcoming a new spot for just that.
That’s because we’ve spotted signs for Toronto’s popular Pho Anh Vu at the former Dragon Fresh Seafood BBQ location on Garden City.
This would mark their debut in BC.
Since opening in 2019, Pho Anh Vu has become one of Toronto’s go-to spots for a bowl of pho or bun bo hue (BBH).
Fans also rave about their Bun Cha Hanoi and Hai Phong-style spicy vermicelli fish soup, each crafted with the same care and attention to detail.
According to several of our Toronto friends, Pho Anh Vu is regularly named in people’s top 5 pho spots.
So Richmond folks might be the lucky ones to get this spot in their area.
The brand’s expansion westward comes after nine successful locations in Eastern Canada.
The Pho Anh Vu team told Noms Magazine that they decided to open in BC because of the high demand from Vancouver visitors, who’ve been asking for Pho Anh Vu to make its way to the West Coast.
They also shared that they’re aiming for a Winter 2025 opening and will be bringing the same menu and recipes that Toronto folks grew to love.
One thing they teased is that they are looking to open a location in Burnaby as well. But that would likely happen in 2026.
Now Richmond folks can be excited for not just Pho Anh Vu arriving, but also other upcoming hot spots like Bellwether, Mikann Shabu, and Sushi Lovers.
