A beloved Cambie Village food joint is closing and turning the page.
Potluck Hawker Eatery has announced it will serve its last bowls and plates on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
In the Instagram post, the team reflected on five years of community support since opening in the summer of 2020 and shared that a new chapter is on the way this winter in the same space.
When Potluck arrived in 2020, we sat down with co-owners Chef Justin Cheung and Chef Dominic Sai about their vision to bring the flavour, pace, and spirit of Southeast Asian hawker centres to Vancouver.
The menu mixed personal memories and technique: Mama Cheung’s laksa, salted egg yolk chicken wings, wok-fired rice and noodles with real wok hei, and sambal built the old-school way with mortar and pestle.

The room matched that energy with neon pops, a playful mural, and the now-famous durian wallpaper that became a rite of passage for first-timers.
According to Potluck’s announcement, the closure is bittersweet but not the end.
The team will return this winter by transforming Potluck into the second outpost of their Main Street Asian burger brand, Street Hawker.

It is being dubbed the Street Hawker 2.0, adding a refreshed menu that nods to their roots while introducing new exclusives.
If Potluck’s laksa, nasi goreng, or salted egg yolk fried chicken sandwich have been on your rotation, this weekend is your last chance to order them before the changeover.
Potluck Hawker Eatery will be joining other recently closed Vancouver food spots like Ole Chicken, Little Cafe, and Momono Tea.
