It looks like another Vancouver cafe has quietly shut its doors.
Oddly enough, they even joked about potentially closing several months ago.
We spotted a closure notice posted at Cafe & Life Co. near Cambie Street, confirming that the cozy coffee spot has quietly closed its Vancouver location.
The note from the team expresses gratitude to the community for its years of support, describing the decision as “just a new chapter,” and inviting customers to visit their Richmond flagship store instead.
Cafe & Life Co. first opened near Broadway and Cambie back in November 2021.
It was known for its modern aesthetic, cozy atmosphere, and signature treats like croissants, coffee, and tiramisu.
In October 2024, the brand expanded with a much larger and even more stylish outpost in Richmond, marking a big milestone for the growing cafe.
Interestingly, this closure comes just a few months after the team playfully hinted at the possibility on Instagram.
Back in August, Cafe & Life Co. posted a tongue-in-cheek video that began as though they were announcing their shutdown after four years, before revealing it was just a tease for their new bagel menu.
The video even ended with the line, “so you better come try them before we actually close down.”
Now, three months later, that joke seems to have come true.
The Vancouver location has been removed from both the cafe’s website and its social media pages, leaving the Richmond flagship as its sole remaining store.
While the Cambie shop’s closure marks the end for many local regulars, those craving Cafe & Life Co.’s drinks and desserts can still find them in Richmond.
Cafe & Life Co. now joins other recently closed Vancouver food spots like Floata Seafood Restaurant, Jinmi Juga, and Jitter Caffe.
