Cookie lovers, rejoice!
BAK’D Cookies, a beloved cookie company owned by siblings Jessica and Andy Nguyen, is set to open its first retail location this summer.
What started as a pandemic passion project is now a growing cookie empire.
Founded in April 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, BAK’D began in the most grassroots way possible.
Jessica Nguyen, fresh from earning her degree in Business Administration from SFU, found herself without job prospects as the world shut down.
Her brother, Andy, then 17 and a junior baker at a local pie shop, proposed a simple yet comforting idea: baking cookies.
I cannot believe we started when Andy was only 17 and we were baking cookies for complete strangers out of our townhouse oven

BAK’D cookies are a far cry from ordinary.
Weighing in at 5 oz each, these cookies are made locally with high-quality ingredients.
Each cookie is freshly baked and handmade, ensuring that each bite is as perfect as the last.
The siblings offer a wide variety of gourmet flavours, including fan favourites like Cookies N Cream, Gimme S’more, Birthday Cake, and Matcha Latte, along with limited seasonal varieties.
Their cookies are described as puck-sized, thick New York-style treats that are gooey in the middle—just as Jessica requested during those early days.
After their initial success, the duo expanded their operations beyond their townhouse kitchen.
They started appearing at various farmers markets and events, and even introduced local delivery options, quickly becoming a staple in the local food scene.
Reflecting on their progress, Jessica noted on Instagram, “Never in a million years would I think people enjoy our cookies as much as we do, and we would have made and bakd over 300,000 cookies.”
While the exact location is yet to be announced, the news has got everyone excited!
