Vancouver’s Ichiran-Inspired Ramen Spot Announces Closure

It looks like Vancouver’s ramen scene is taking another hit – this time on West Broadway.

On April 7th, Ramen One dropped a bittersweet announcement on Instagram: they’ll be officially closing up shop on Sunday, May 18th.

Cue the collective slurp-sob (you’ll see it in the comments of their announcement).

For those who haven’t been, Ramen One made its debut back in March 2024, quickly earning buzz for offering $10 ramen and bringing Vancouver its very first Ichiran-inspired setup.

Yep, we’re talking individual booths, silent delivery windows, and zero small talk.

It’s just you and your ramen.

It was a dream for introverts, solo diners, and anyone just needing a break from human interaction. (We get it.)

Alongside their signature ramen, Ramen One also served up comforting chazuke and a lineup of onigiri.

The space also doubled as the home of 404 Coffee, a little window serving up specialty drinks and castella cheesecake ice cream.

There’s no word yet on whether 404 will continue operating out of the window, but everyone is waiting for their announcement of their situation.

This closure isn’t happening in a vacuum.

Broadway businesses have been getting the short end of the stick for years thanks to the never-ending Broadway SkyTrain expansion, the current brutal economy and redevelopments.

Ramen One now joins a long list of recent West Broadway goodbyes, including New India Buffet, Shoku, Genki Eki, Feel City BBQ, and Yushang Hot Pot.
