It looks like another unique food concept has come to an end in Vancouver.
After a year, Hululu, the self-serve instant noodle shop in Kerrisdale, has now closed.
Back in June 2024, we reported on the exciting arrival of Hululu, a quirky DIY ramen restaurant offering over 25 different instant noodle options from across Asia.

It had everything from Korean classics to rare Japanese finds.
Customers could build their bowls with add-ons like kimchi, octopus-shaped sausages, and corn, then cook their meal themselves at self-serve stoves, just like in Asia.
It even featured bubble tea, hot pot, and side snacks.
In May, Hululu offered a peculiar clearance sale, with deeply discounted noodles and ingredients.
At the time, there was no clarification on whether the sale was part of another renovation (something the business had done more than once) or something more final.
Even on Google, the business was tagged as “temporarily closed”.
This week, we spotted a giant For Lease sign posted on the window and the interior fully emptied.
It’s now safe to say that clearance sale was the beginning of the end.
Hululu quietly bows out without a formal goodbye – no social posts, no farewell message.
They now join other recently shuttered Vancouver spots like Bob Likes Thai Food, Bada, and Ma Dang Goul.
