The Metrotown area is about to welcome another newcomer to its food scene and this one’s bringing Vietnamese comfort eats.

A Noms Mag community member (@withnatwong) spotted new signage for 2025 Cafe, a yet-to-open Vietnamese café that will specialize in Vietnamese steam rice rolls, also known as bánh cuốn.

This new concept is taking over the former Pokey Okey unit on Kingsway.

While there’s still no official website or menu available, we did find their Instagram account, which offers a close-up of the brand’s logo.

The logo features an illustration of traditional bánh cuốn, a Vietnamese dish made of delicate rice sheets steamed until soft and slightly chewy, then filled with ground pork, wood ear mushrooms, and shallots.

It’s often served with Vietnamese sausage (chả lụa), fresh herbs, pickled vegetables, and nước chấm—a signature sweet-savory fish sauce-based dip.

The logo also includes what looks like a traditional Vietnamese phin coffee dripper, suggesting that Vietnamese-style coffee is likely to be a big part of the offering too.

They will be joining other upcoming food spots in Burnaby like The Meat Up, Passion1818 Sushi Kaya, and Malaysian Delight.
