Another family-owned restaurant in Vancouver’s West End has closed its doors for good.
Pho Q&M, a Vietnamese restaurant that first opened around 2020, has permanently shut down.

A closure notice is now posted on the front door of the restaurant, thanking customers for their support over the years.
“It has been our honor and joy to serve our community,” the note reads. “As we close our doors, we want to express our deepest gratitude for your kindness, loyalty, and the memories we shared together.”
Peeking through the window, the space has already been completely cleared out.
Construction tools, an air compressor, and building materials are spread across the floor.

Ceiling tiles have been pulled down and the walls are being redone.
It looks like the unit is being fully renovated, likely for a new tenant moving in.
There is no word yet on what will be taking over the space, but the speed of the renovation suggests something is already lined up.
Pho Q&M was a small, no-frills spot that served classic Vietnamese comfort food.
The menu consisted of your usual bowls of pho, rice dishes, and noodle soups made with fresh ingredients and genuine care.

It was the kind of place you would go on a cold, rainy Vancouver day when you needed something warm and filling.
The restaurant offered both dine-in and take-out and was a familiar presence in the West End for locals in the area.
Opening in 2020 meant Pho Q&M launched during one of the most difficult periods for the restaurant industry.
Surviving through the pandemic years as a small family-run operation was no small feat.
That makes the closure all the more bittersweet for anyone who was rooting for them.
Pho Q&M now joins other recently closed spots in the city like Trees Coffee on Davie, Bacaro, and Jamjar Canteen at UBC.
