Aberdeen Centre is losing another restaurant, but this one is not leaving the building.
A Noms Magazine community member (JessHo) spotted a handwritten notice at Man Ri Sung, the Korean spot on the upper level of Aberdeen Centre indicating they are closing up.

The sign reads “We are closing” in big red letters with “June 7 would be our last day of business” written underneath.
A separate line thanks customers for “loving our food for the past 10 years,” and the food court relocation note is tucked into a hand-drawn bubble at the bottom of the same page.
Man Ri Sung is run by Chef Sang Myung Lee, who is Korean, was born in China, and moved to Canada after only about three years in Korea.
His menu leans more Chinese than Korean as a result, with Peking duck carved tableside as the house signature, and he has been cooking ducks for close to two decades.

Before Aberdeen Centre, Man Ri Sung lived in the plaza across from the Richmond Public Market, in the same complex as Banzai Sushi, after first opening in Port Coquitlam in 2015.
The Aberdeen Centre third floor is the part of the mall losing the most ground right now.
The mall has had a brutal stretch in 2026, with the recent closures of Haojiyao, Meiten, and Chef Hung, plus Garaku reportedly getting its lease terminated.
The food court side has been quieter, and it is the side actively gaining tenants.

Taoke is in the middle of opening on the second floor, and Taiwan 101 Bento appears to be near completion down in the food court.
The most likely landing spot for Man Ri Sung is the empty Haojiyao stall, based on what is currently vacant down there.
That unit does not have a great track record with previous tenants, which makes the move a real gamble even with a decade of regulars and Chef Lee’s name behind it.
But we’ll have to wait and see if they can pull it off.
