Spotted: A New Hong Kong Style Cafe Stall Opened in Aberdeen Square

For years, Aberdeen Square has felt like the deserted shadow of its busy neighbour next door.

But lately, the mall is finally seeing some life.

Aside from the recent wave of anime and character shops, the third-floor food court just landed a major new tenant.

Hong Kong Pai Pai officially opened its doors in mid-December 2025.

It has taken over the unit previously occupied by Luroufan Tasty.

This opening comes at a perfect time, as Hong Kong-style cafe stalls are having a massive resurgence in Richmond right now.

Competitors like Cha Don and One Cafe are seeing long lines every single day, so it makes sense that Aberdeen Square is joining the party.

If you know the drill at these spots, the menu will feel very familiar.

They specialize in classic “Cha Chaan Teng” staples like All Day Breakfast Meals, Sandwich Sets, and afternoon street food.

The menu board also lists heavier items served after 11:00 AM, such as Swiss Sauce Chicken Cutlet and Baked Pork Chop Rice.

We went for the staple order: the Satay Beef with Rice Noodle set.

It comes with a side of buttered toast, a hot drink, and surprisingly silky scrambled eggs.

Be aware that swapping to a cold drink will cost you an extra $2.

With so many HK-style stalls opening in Richmond, everyone likely has their specific favourite by now.

However, it has one massive advantage: the seating.

Unlike the chaos at other Richmond food courts, Aberdeen Square is much quieter, meaning you are actually bound to find a table here.

Hong Kong Pai Pai joins a growing list of new spots breathing life into the area, including Butter & Joy, Enishi, and And Drinks.
