It looks like another bubble tea shop has closed its doors in Richmond.
Shuyi Tealicious, located inside Continental Shopping Centre, has been marked as permanently closed on Google, and while thereโs a sign posted on its front door that says โclosed for remodeling,โ the reality appears different.
The store has been shut for several weeks now, with no signs of activity inside.
Both its website and Vancouver Instagram have also been deactivated.

A listing for its sale has been up since spring, and based on the timeline, the location likely closed quietly in late June.
This Richmond outpost was the first BC location for the global bubble tea brand and opened in August 2023.
The closure means it lasted just shy of 2 years.
Shuyi Tea originally launched in Chengdu, Sichuan in 2007 and has since grown into a major global chain with over 7000 stores.
In 2018, they opened their first overseas location in Toronto.
Their menu gained fans for its healthy portions of grass jelly and toppings. Standouts included their Signature Grass Jelly Milk Tea, Taro Balls Grass Jelly Milk Tea, and Grass Jelly Meet Yogurt line.
They also offered a selection of fresh fruit teas and milk teas, with a focus on quality ingredients and creative combinations.
Still, Metro Vancouverโs bubble tea scene is one of the most competitive in the country.
Even well-established names like Yifang and Machi Machi have shuttered all their locations in the past two years.
And while some chains have exited, others are still entering the market, including recent newcomers like Chahalo and the soon-to-open Molly Tea.
Shuyi Tealicious now joins a growing list of food and drink closures in Richmond, including Shanghai Morning, Cherryโs Tofu House, and Pearl Castle at Richmond Centre.
