Well, this one definitely stings.
It looks like Vancouver is losing ANOTHER longtime restaurant soon.
Robson Street’s Zefferelli’s Spaghetti Joint shared the bittersweet news on their Instagram page on April 15th, announcing their upcoming closure.
If you heard whispers about this potentially happening months ago – after a post popped up in a local Facebook group suggesting they were winding down – well, I suppose the rumours were true.
The restaurant, which first opened its doors way back in 1989, became a fixture on Robson Street.
Perched on the second floor overlooking the busy street below, Zefferelli’s offered a cozy, charming escape.
It was known for friendly service and seriously home-style, flavourful Italian food.
It even described itself as “unpretentious Italian cooking”.
Locals and visitors loved it for that comforting, classic vibe – a solid spot for a night out with friends or a cute, slightly old-school romantic date.
In their heartfelt goodbye letter, Alberto and the Zefferelli’s team called it an honour to be “Vancouver’s dignified spaghetti joint” for over three decades.
They thanked their loyal diners and the hundreds of staff who made it a “Robson Street institution,” noting they were never “pretentious or stuffy,” just focused on “fun, quality, and value.”
Zefferelli’s confirmed they will close their doors for the final time this upcoming May long weekend.
It’s another tough loss for the city’s dining scene, especially following recent closures of other longtime food spots like Meinhardt Pacific Centre, Footo Croissant, Pizzeria Barbarella, Meet Fresh, and On On Wonton House.
