Finding solid Filipino comfort food near Metrotown just got a whole lot easier.
After teasing us with signage last month, the wait is finally over.
Chibugan ‘To has officially opened its doors on Kingsway.
The shop quietly opened last week, and we stopped by (anonymously) to check out the new location.

If the name sounds familiar, it is because the brand built a good reputation in Surrey.
They are known for affordable, authentic meals that feel like a home-cooked “food trip.”
However, this new Burnaby location has a specific setup you need to know about before you visit.
It is strictly a take-out operation.
Unlike their original spot, there are no tables here for lingering.

The space is compact and designed purely for grab-and-go speed.
The interior features simple wood-slatted walls covered in photos of the menu items, with a traditional parol lantern glowing in the window.
It is perfect for grabbing a box of food on your way home to the nearby condos.
The menu is a “Greatest Hits” list of Filipino breakfast and lunch staples.
You can grab classic Silog meals (garlic rice and egg) paired with Tapsilog (beef jerky) or Longsilog (sweet sausage) for under $18.

We spotted their popular BBQ Chicken Leg Silog, which comes glazed and generous in portion.
They also offer larger sharing items like Crispy Kare-Kare and party trays of Pancit or Spaghetti.
For dessert, the fridge is stocked with Leche Flan and Ube Champorado.
Chibugan ‘To joins a sudden wave of new openings in the Burnaby area like Song Huong, Hui Flavor, and D2 Tea Lab.
