It looks like Burnaby Heights is about to get a sweet new addition, and itโs dressed in neon pink and blue.
A Noms Mag community member (sarasyvr) spotted the old Pizza Hut, at the corner of Hastings and Gamma, being transformed into a retro-themed donut shop called Vegas Donuts.
The building has already been repainted in the brandโs signature bright colours, hinting that an opening is just around the corner.

We suppose this is great news, as the building isn’t being used as a political candidate HQ or a movie set for once.
For those unfamiliar, Vegas Donuts first landed in Vancouver in spring 2024 when brothers Mike and Steve McBean took over the old De Dutch space on Knight Street.
The brand is inspired by their grandparentsโ donut shop in 1960s Las Vegas, with a nostalgic menu featuring creations like their Classic Glazed and Chocolate Fudge.
Since then, the McBeans have been testing new neighbourhoods.
A small West End shop opened in September 2024 but quietly closed after three months.
Earlier this year, they tried again with a Maple Ridge location thatโs still going strong.
Now Burnaby is their next target.
The choice of the Burnaby Heights Pizza Hut unit is fitting, given the buildingโs retro look and large corner presence.
While the brand hasnโt officially announced the new location yet, the signage and paint job make it clear that Vegas Donuts is coming soon.
When it opens, it will join a lineup of fresh Burnaby arrivals like Malaysia Delights, 2025 Cafe, and Hei Hei Rice Rolls.
