The long-awaited Richmond outpost of the iconic Lee’s Donuts has soft opened as of August 31st, bringing their legendary doughnuts to the waterfront.
Back in April 2024, one of our community members spotted the sign for Lee’s Donuts in Steveston, and now, the wait is over.
This marks Lee’s first Richmond location, just a few blocks from the Fisherman’s Wharf, offering a perfect pairing of scenic views and sugary goodness.
Lee’s Donuts isn’t just any doughnut shop—it’s a Vancouver institution with a rich history dating back to 1968.
When Betty-Ann and Alan Lee decided to trade their government jobs for something sweeter, they couldn’t have imagined the legacy they were about to create.
By the summer of 1979, Lee’s Donuts had become a beloved fixture in the Granville Island Public Market, known for its simple yet irresistible doughnuts.
For decades, Lee’s Donuts has been a must-visit spot for anyone in search of a classic treat.
After Alan’s passing in 2014, Betty-Ann passed the torch to Allan and Celine Bacani, long-time customers who were passionate about preserving the legacy of Lee’s Donuts.
Under their ownership, the brand has expanded significantly, including a new outpost slated to open at Amazing Brentwood this fall.
The Steveston location is currently in its soft opening phase, with a grand opening scheduled for September 15th.
Now, you can enjoy their popular Honey Dip while taking in the beautiful waterfront views—a perfect way to spend a day in Steveston.
