Richmond & Vancouver foodies, they’re finally back!
One of the Richmond’s most highly anticipated reopenings has finally happened—Long’s Noodle House is back, and in restaurant form!
After months of waiting, the beloved Shanghainese restaurant, known for its delicious Xiao Long Bao and other classic dishes, has reopened at Garden City Plaza in Richmond, right next to Liu Yi Shou and Daan Go Cake Lab.
The unit, formerly occupied by Boom Chicken, is now home to this fan-fav spot, marking its return to a full dine-in setup.
For those keeping tabs on Long’s Noodle House saga, this reopening has been a long time coming.
The beloved Shanghainese restaurant that’s been a staple in Vancouver since 1992 but was forced to leave Main Street after a devastating fire in 2023.
Although they reopened in Richmond’s Admiralty Centre for a short stint, a food court drama eventually pushed Long’s to disappear from the city earlier this year.
Months of whispered rumors about a new location began poping up in Spring.
But now Long’s has quietly swung its doors open—and it’s already drawing a crowd.
We were lucky enough to spot the open sign on and found the parking lot unusually packed, hinting at some exciting action inside.
And indeed, despite the blinds being down and the door window shaded, the restaurant was packed with diners!
The new location features a fresh yet understated design.
There’s a striking mural of the Shanghai skyline behind the counter, adding a vibrant, central touch to the otherwise minimal decor.
Simple gray-toned tables and chairs fill the space, with cozy seating arrangements for small groups.
True to their old setup, they’ve also included one big round dining table, perfect for larger gatherings.
The restaurant seats around 45 people, giving it that familiar, intimate vibe that fans of the old Long’s know and love.
Menu-wise, Long’s has brought back many of the favourites that have kept loyal fans coming back for years.

Diners can once again indulge in their signature Xiao Long Bao, the fragrant Wine Chicken, and their comforting Chicken Hot Pot Wonton.
On our visit, we enjoyed the plump Xiao Long Bao, filled with their iconic flavourful soup, and the Tan Tan Noodles, which were as satisfyingly savoury as ever.
It’s worth noting that the restaurant is cash and debit only.
But here’s some good news for drivers—parking in the lot is free for three hours if you register inside the restaurant, saving you a few dollars and some hassle.
This quiet reopening may come as bittersweet news for fans who hoped to see the iconic spot return to Main Street.
But Richmond locals are in for a real treat.
As the city continues to grow its diverse food offerings, Long’s Noodle House is undoubtedly a welcomed addition to Richmond’s thriving culinary landscape.
