A new tea shop on one of downtown Vancouver’s busiest blocks is not planning to stay a tea shop after dark.
Alfa Tea grand opened on Robson Street on June 13, and the signage over the door already gives away the twist: day to night, tea to bar.
For now, it runs as the bubble tea shop locals already know from its predecessor: a MACU Tea dupe.
The second half of the concept, the bar, arrives later this summer.

This is Alfa Tea’s third Metro Vancouver location, after its Burnaby debut and its Richmond shop at Union Square.
The brand made its name on viral mango drinks, drawing massive lines at the Burnaby launch and handing out 300 free mini glass mugs when the Richmond store soft opened in May.
The Robson spot is the biggest of the three.
By day it pours the familiar lineup, led by the seasonal mango series, fresho fruit teas, cheefoam drinks, and the signature Alfa milk tea.

The menu board is sorted by season, so the Mexican mango series runs through September while grape, matcha, and shine muscat rotate in later in the year.
The board even splits in two, a sun-marked tea side that is live now and a moon-marked bar side still waiting to switch on.
Day-menu picks include THE OG mango pomelo sago, the mango cheefoam smoothie built on a salty cheese milk foam, and an Okinawa brown sugar boba fresh milk, with the usual ice and sugar levels to dial in.

Then comes the part that sets this location apart.
A PM menu listed as liquor and food is marked coming in July, flipping the daytime tea shop into a night-time bar.
That evening shift will bring fried food snacks and alcohol, a format Alfa has not run at its Burnaby or Richmond stores.
To make room for it, the Robson space is larger than the other two, and the team plans to add tables later for the bar concept.

Inside, it leans calm and minimal, with pale blue walls, a long backlit shelf lined with cups, and a wall decal that reads “Always Live Fresh & Authentic.”
The bar build-out is still to come, so seating is limited for the moment.
The location is a smart pickup, landing the brand on a high-traffic stretch of Robson right next to Ramen Danbo.
Alfa Tea joins other recently opened Vancouver food spots like No Ne Kitchen and Bar, Little Pisces Olympic Village, and Truffle Donut.
