With all the snow madness and closures happening in Vancouver and Richmond, we almost missed one of the most exciting food openings in Coquitlam—Sinjeon Topokki!
Yup they’ve now officially opened its first BC location on February 1st!
If you’re a fan of Korean street food, this is the spot you’ve been waiting for.
Sinjeon picked the perfect location for its debut, setting up shop in Coquitlam’s bustling North Road area—aka K-Town—right alongside other popular newcomers like Paris Baguette and Sushi Mura.
They took over the previous Myung Ga Mandu unit.
For those who missed our previous report, Sinjeon Topokki is a Korean street food powerhouse that started as a humble stall in Daegu in 1999 and has since expanded to over 700 locations in South Korea and 9 international outposts.
Their signature dish?
Tteokbokki—spicy, chewy rice cakes bathed in a bold and flavourful sauce. And they don’t just stop at the classic version.
They also serve Rosé Tteokbokki and Creamy Carbonara Tteokbokki, with three spice levels to choose from, ranging from Shin Ramyun mild to 2x Buldak Ramen-level heat.
Pro tip: Add cheese on top for that ultimate K-drama cheese pull moment!
Beyond tteokbokki, the menu is stacked with Korean street food classics, including fried fish cakes, mini kimbap rolls, and crispy Korean dumplings.
They even offer combo sets, so you can mix and match your favourites.
With its prime location and cult-favorite menu, Sinjeon Topokki is set to become a must-visit for Korean food lovers in Metro Vancouver.
Time to grab some rice cakes and live out your K-drama foodie dreams.
