Calling all ramen lovers!
Get your slurping spoons ready because Vancouver is about to get another dose of JINYA Ramen Bar.
The popular US Japanese ramen chain is opening its second Vancouver location on West Broadway on August 1st, and they’re kicking things off with a bang—FREE ramen, anyone?
For those not in the know, JINYA Ramen Bar has been delighting Vancouverites since they opened their first spot downtown.
They previously had locations in Kerrisdale and Burnaby, but those were franchised by another owner and rebranded to ZUBU in 2020.
Founded in 2010 by Tomo Takahashi, JINYA Ramen Bar brings a slice of Japan with a focus on the Japanese principle of “kaizen”—continuous improvement.
This means every bowl of ramen is meticulously crafted, from the water used for the broth to the special aging process of their noodles.
Tomo, the son of a successful Japanese restaurateur who owned an Izakaya-style restaurant named Jinya, came to the United States in 2010.
Missing the traditional taste of Japanese ramen, he decided to create it himself, using his family’s expertise and passion.
JINYA’s broth is the heart and soul of their ramen, slowly simmered for more than twenty hours.
Each of their six signature broths balances flavors from whole pork bones, chicken, and vegetables with classic Japanese ingredients like bonito, dashi, miso, and kombu.
The new Vancouver West Broadway location is just steps away from the Granville Street Indigo (Chapters) store, perfect for those in the area craving a bowl of ramen.
The interior promises to be as inviting and cozy as their downtown spot.
Now, let’s talk about the food. JINYA is known for its variety of ramen options, featuring everything from the classic tonkotsu pork broth to spicy miso and vegetarian ramen.
The new location will offer the same beloved menu as the downtown location, ensuring that all your favourites are available.
And if you’re lucky, you might even snag one of the 100 FREE ramen bowls they’re giving away on opening day!
The first 50 customers at lunch (11 a.m.) and dinner (5 p.m.) will get to enjoy a complimentary bowl, with a live DJ setting the mood during dinner service.
But that’s not all!
JINYA is also expanding its culinary reach with a new concept called Saijo, coming soon to Kitsilano.
Saijo will focus on hand rolls and kushiyaki, drawing inspiration from Robata JINYA, which features sushi, kushiyaki, and ramen.
This exciting addition promises to offer even more delicious Japanese fare to the Vancouver food scene.
Don’t miss out on the grand opening festivities and a chance to experience JINYA’s amazing ramen for free.
