Aberdeen Centre’s food court just got a new addition, and it’s bringing something different to the mix.
After Cherry’s Tofu House quietly shut down last month, many were curious what would take its place.
The answer is LUCA, a highly rated Egyptian eatery that has relocated from Vancouver’s Terminal Avenue to Richmond.

With a 4.9-star reputation, the move marks a fresh chapter for the brand.
LUCA originally opened in 2023, offering a surprising menu that blended Egyptian breakfast staples, Italian pastas, wraps, and their signature Kushary Luca, Egypt’s national dish.
At their new Aberdeen Centre outpost, diners will find a menu designed for variety and comfort.
Options include chicken, beef, or mixed shawarma served with rice, potatoes, salad, garlic sauce, and hummus, along with falafel plates and wraps for plant-based eaters.
They’re also showcasing koshari, a hearty bowl of rice, lentils, pasta, and fried onions that can be topped with shrimp, beef, or chicken.
Other specialties include beef kofta from the grill, Egyptian okra tagine, and a selection of fresh salads with chicken, beef, or shrimp.
To celebrate their opening week at Aberdeen, LUCA is offering 10% off, giving curious food lovers a reason to stop by and try something new.
With this move, LUCA now joins other recent additions to Richmond’s food scene such as Egg Lab, Yummy Pork, and Meet Fresh.
