If you have ever grabbed a hojicha slush at the Amazing Brentwood TABLES food court on a hot day, this one is going to sting.
A Noms Mag community member (jessho) shared with us that Soon Coffee has just announced that it is shutting down.
The last day of service will be Sunday, May 31, 2026.
Soon Manager, Sydney, shared the news on Instagram in a post that was equal parts heartbreak and gratitude.
“We’ve made the difficult decision to close Soon,” she wrote.
“I know this is never the update anyone wants, not for the staff who make us what we are, not for the customers that have supported us over the last five years.”
During the hotter months, we loved grabbing their hojicha slush to cool down.
It was one of those orders that became automatic whenever we were at Brentwood, and losing it ACTUALLY hurts.
Soon was built on a simple idea: great coffee should be affordable, approachable, and it should bring people together.
The shop became more than just a coffee counter in the food court.
It hosted a variety of community events like Rookie Moves and pancake breakfasts as well.
Sydney noted in her post that while the cafe is closing, the beans will still be available through Monogram Coffee, which owns Soon.
This closure adds to what has been a rough stretch for the TABLES food court at the Amazing Brentwood.
We have reported on multiple departures from the food hall over the past year.
My Toan and Good Taco both quietly shut down in Fall 2025. ThaiGo closed around the same time.
And earlier this spring, Saboten, the Japanese tonkatsu chain, permanently closed its Brentwood location after about five years, directing customers to its remaining Aberdeen Centre spot in Richmond.
Soon Coffee will join that list at the end of the month.

Soon Coffee joins other recently closed food spots in Burnaby, including Roadside Spicy Pot, Bella Gelateria Brentwood, and Lattea Crystal Mall.
