A New 24/7 Bakery and Cafe Is Coming To Downtown Vancouver

Vancouver’s downtown core is about to get a rare cafe format that does not shut its doors when the dinner crowd disappears.

Bloom Bakery and Cafe, a new 24/7 concept, is taking over the corner of Robson and Seymour, where one of the city’s longest-running Blenz Coffee outposts quietly closed after more than 20 years.

We spotted the “Soon to be Yours” signage taped across the windows of the 776 Seymour Street unit last week.

The poster confirms it will operate as a round-the-clock bakery and cafe, with “Good Bakes” and “Coffee & More Anytime” listed as the two pillars of the menu.

There is not much else out there yet on the brand.

Bloom has no public website footprint we could find, and its only visible channel is the Instagram handle @bloombakeryandcafe, which is currently bare.

What is notable here is the format. A 24/7 cafe in central downtown Vancouver is genuinely uncommon.

For most locals, the mental shortcut for an always-open cafe is Breka, which has built its following on round-the-clock baked goods, breakfast, and late-night coffee.

Bloom is choosing to plant the same kind of flag in the middle of the office, hotel, and shopping cluster between Howe and Granville.

Since the unit is taking over an existing cafe footprint, the build-out is unlikely to require a full gut renovation.

That usually translates to a faster turnaround.

Based on the visible papering, the active hiring push, and the “soon” language on the signage, an opening within the next couple of months feels realistic.

Bloom Bakery and Cafe joins a growing list of upcoming Vancouver food spots, including Trees Coffee on Joyce, Loreto in Chinatown, and the returning Fish Cafe in Kerrisdale.
