Main Street’s coffee scene is about to stretch a few blocks further south.
Doe Coffee, the no-tipping cafe known for its croissants and matcha drinks, is opening a third Vancouver location at 49th and Main.
Several Noms Magazine community members (sandyspecs & annavandinh) recently spotted signage for the cafe going up at the new corner development called RAY on the intersection.

There is no opening date yet, but the location itself is a notable get.
The 49th and Main intersection is in the historic Punjabi Market and is one of the busier crossings on the south stretch of Main, and it sits just blocks from Langara College.
That whole area along 49th has been filling in with new development lately, and Doe is not the only food name attached to it.
Lee’s Donuts is also slated to open at one of the nearby developments, giving the area two recognizable additions at once.
For anyone not familiar, Doe has built a quiet but loyal following since it rebranded in 2022.
The cafe actually started during the pandemic as Penny Royal Cafe before becoming Doe Coffee, with its original shop in Hastings Sunrise.

Its second location opened on Clark Drive in Strathcona last October, carrying tall ceilings, soft white walls, and the same minimal, sunlit look.
One thing that sets Doe apart is its no-tipping model.
Owner and CEO Bin Ni’s team made the call collectively, and it has stuck as part of the cafe’s identity across its shops.
The bigger draw is the pastry case.
Doe is known for its croissants in flavours like mango passion fruit, ube, and ceremonial matcha, alongside fruit danishes and cookies.

The drinks menu leans into a signature matcha lineup, with options like the Matcha Strawberry and Matcha Ube lattes, plus flat whites, pistachio lattes, and hojicha lattes.
There are also croissant sandwiches, from avocado roasted beef to spinach and feta turkey.
A third location makes Doe one of the more quietly consistent local coffee names to watch, and 49th and Main hands it a high-traffic corner with a built-in student crowd.
For Langara students and south Main regulars, it adds a proper sit-down coffee option to a stretch that has leaned more on quick eats than cafes.
Doe Coffee Main joins a wave of other upcoming Vancouver food spots like Angus T Waterfront, SUMU, and Bisou Bakehouse Robson.
