One of Downtown Vancouver’s busiest blocks is about to land a popular London bubble tea name, and it is grand opening with a day of buy one get one free deal.
Chayan, the London-born tea shop known for its black tea frappe, is landing on Robson Street.
It is taking over the former Lattea unit, and it marks Chayan’s second Metro Vancouver location after its Richmond debut.
The rollout starts with a soft opening from June 11 to 13.

The grand opening lands on June 14, and that is the day to circle.
The first 30 customers get a free milk tea, and every drink is buy one get one free for the entire day.
There is also a membership launch, with 10% off your first order plus points and birthday perks, and a top-up bonus offering up to $25 in credit during the opening stretch.

For anyone new to the name, Chayan started in London in 2023 and built a reputation fast, with fans calling it the best frappe and milk tea to come out of the UK.
When it soft opened in Richmond, it dropped right into the area’s crowded bubble tea scene and quickly pulled a crowd.
It has since grown well beyond Britain, expanding to Richmond, Seattle, and soon Edmonton.
The drinks are pulled from teas sourced in China and made on a high-tech teapresso machine, the same kind HeyTea uses.

The signature is the black tea frappe, which blends Jinjunmei black tea with fresh milk, a light whipped cream cap, and pecan chips on top.
Beyond that, the board runs through frappes like matcha green tea, peach oolong, and Da Hong Pao, plus milk teas, straight brewed teas, and the new lemon series.
What Chayan leans on hardest is its ingredients.

The shop makes its own fresh, non-artificial syrup daily, brews whole-leaf tea to order, and uses fresh milk, organic matcha, and oat popping boba.
It recently added a line of lemon drinks built on fresh air-flown perfume lemon, which it bills as fragrant, juicy, and high in vitamin C.
The Robson move puts all of that on one of the busiest shopping blocks downtown, with plenty of foot traffic passing the door.
That makes the free-drink grand opening a quick way to pull curious downtown regulars in for a first taste before the lines settle.
Chayan joins a wave of recently opened Vancouver spots like Little Pisces, Truffle Donuts, and Nana’s Green Tea Downtown.
