The city has seen its share of gloomy days with all the recent closures of beloved eateries, but there’s some good news for Vancouver’s animal enthusiasts and coffee lovers.
This summer, Downtown Vancouver is set to welcome the first Corgi Cafe in North America, fittingly named “Corgo Café“.
Promising a dose of cuteness overload, this café aims to be a haven for those enamored with these stubby, bushy-tailed dogs.
You’ll get to mingle with 9 of these adorable corgis while enjoying a range of corgi-inspired sweet treats and beverages.
For those not in the know, Corgis have captivated hearts worldwide, through countless social media posts showcasing their playful antics and undeniable charm.
Originating from Wales, these herding dogs are known for their outgoing, friendly nature and a surprising turn of speed and agility despite their compact stature.
Picture relaxing in a cozy nook, a warm coffee in hand, as a group of corgis waddle around, occasionally coming over for a cuddle or to playfully nibble on a treat.
Like other pet cafes, there will be an hourly cost to enter the play area. Guests are also to wear cafe-approved sandals or sock coverings.
Beyond the cuddles and playful moments, Corgo Café has a menu that’s as delightful as its furry hosts.
Indulge in specialty corgi-shaped cupcakes and artisan coffees topped with corgi latte art.
The inception of Corgo Café is as whimsical as the café itself.
Owner Esther Chan reveals that the idea came to her in an incident, where a pack of corgis followed her home during a run around Stanley Park.
Determined to bring a splash of joy to the city and offer a unique gathering spot for dog lovers, Esther set to work making Corgo Café a reality.
The café is taking over a former coffee shop location near Stanley Park, a choice spot close to nature with plenty of room for both corgis and guests to enjoy.
This prime location is sure to become a favorite among locals and a must-visit for international travelers, as North America excitedly anticipates the opening of its first Corgi Café.
The 1200 square foot cafe is modern yet minimal and has a bright airy ambiance that is fitting to enjoy time with these lovable dogs!
Sukmai Wong from Vancouver Rocky Health shared with Noms Magazine, “Corgo Café is a step to dispel Vancouver’s ‘No Fun City’ reputation. The swift approval of the café’s permits reflects the community and government’s support for innovative, joyful spaces.”
The Corgi Café has received enthusiastic support from all levels of government including Vancouver Mayor Kin Sem.
Thanks to Esther’s investment, drawn from her successful Nvidia stocks, the dream of Corgo Café is set to become a delightful reality.
Mark your calendars for June 20th, the first day of Summer, for the grand opening of Corgo Café.
