In Japan, food experiences are often unlike anything you’ll find elsewhere.

Yes, you read that right.

At this restaurant, there’s literally an unlimited egg buffet, and you can also try raw chicken if you’re feeling extra adventurous.

You might be wondering, how is it possible to eat raw eggs and raw chicken without fear of getting sick?

Because in North America, you’d be freaking out!

Well, Japan’s standards for food safety are incredibly strict, especially when it comes to raw foods.

Many Japanese people has grown up eating raw eggs regularly, and this restaurant sources unique eggs from local farms, including one that has a completely white egg yolk!

Megan and Ben took viewers through their experience at Kisaburo Farm, starting with some “egg shots”—yep, just straight-up raw eggs.

The shop’s unique feature is that customers can choose from 13 types of eggs, which vary in flavor and colors. For lunch Kisaburo Farm even has an all-you-can-eat raw egg rice set.

They even went for the raw chicken, although they admitted it “really did just taste too much like chicken.”

It was definitely an experience, but maybe not one they’d recommend unless you’re really curious.

The meal finished off with a final egg dish: pudding.

And according to Megan and Ben, if there’s one thing you need to try at this restaurant, it’s the pudding—because everyone deserves a treat after raw egg shots and raw chicken.

The comments section was buzzing, with many expressing their fear of salmonella. “THE SALMONELLA RISK IS 2 MUCH FOR ME” said one user.

Another added, “Japan really has different standards. Meanwhile, I can’t even trust my grocery store eggs.”

“yeah that’s a no for me. I have a big phobia of raw meat.” commented another, capturing the general sentiment of awe and fear.

It’s clear that while Japan’s food safety standards allow for experiences like this, it’s not something everyone is rushing to try.

Still, it’s a fascinating glimpse into how different cultures approach food.

Would you give this raw egg and chicken feast a try, or is it a hard pass for you?
