Japan’s Weirdest Vending Machine Yet? It Might Just Help You Find Love

Japan is famous for its quirky vending machines—you can buy anything from bugs to ramen to an endless assortment of drinks.

But this might just be the strangest one yet.

TikToker @jesseogn recently introduced us to a vending machine in Japan that’s a little different from the rest: it’s a matchmaking machine.

@jesseogn This is probably the weirdest vending machine I’ve ever see! Send this to your friends that are single during Valentine’s Day😅 #japan #japanese #valentinesday ♬ Any song – ZICO

If you’re single in Japan, this vending machine could be the perfect place to find your partner.

In Tokyo, a pink vending machine lets you buy “love in a can” for ¥1,000 (~USD6.49), giving singles a chance to meet someone new through Japan’s famed matchmakers, Matching Advisor Press (MAP).

Here’s how it works: pink cans represent women, and yellow cans represent men, with each can showing the age of the person inside.

So if you’re looking for someone in a particular age range, you can pick accordingly.

But don’t get too excited about an instant date—what you’re really buying is a consultation with MAP, conveniently located right upstairs from the machine!

After choosing your can, MAP arranges a one-hour meeting, where they’ll reveal a photo of your chosen person and give you more details about them.

And here’s a good backup—if you feel the match isn’t right after the meeting, MAP will actually refund your ¥1,000!

If things do feel promising, they’ll schedule a romantic dinner date, which costs an extra ¥15,000 (~USD98.73).

Not so bad when you’re meeting the potential love of your life, right?

Well, It’s all a bit mysterious, and not every can will lead to a perfect match.

But for those ready to try something totally new in dating, Japan’s love vending machine offers an adventurous way to put yourself out there.

So, what do you think—would you give it a shot?
