Olympic Village just lost one of its longest-running sushi spots.

Manna Sushi has permanently shut down its Olympic Village location after 12 years of service, with the team citing lease issues as the reason for the closure.

The closure was first spotted in late April, when we noticed the longtime signage on the storefront came down.

In a Google Review, a customer shared a photo of a notice taped to the front door, confirming the news, explaining that the team had to vacate the space due to circumstances related to their lease matters.

The official last day of service was April 10, 2026, according to the message currently posted on the restaurant’s website.

In the lead-up to the shutdown, the team ran a 10 percent off appreciation sale on all takeout orders as a final thank-you to longtime regulars.

The shop first opened its doors in 2014 and built up a quiet but loyal following over the next decade-plus.

It was the kind of casual neighbourhood sushi spot that locals defaulted to for a reliable sushi lunch without the wait of the trendier rooms nearby.

Regulars praised it for its fair pricing and consistency, a combination that has become harder to find in this part of the city as rents climb.

The menu also went well beyond the standard nigiri and roll list.

Manna ran a full Japanese pasta section with dishes like Smoked Salmon Carbonara and Nasu Eggplant Ragu, plus a Korean side of the kitchen featuring hot stone bowl bibimbap and a few different soondubu options.

There were also aburi rolls, oshi sushi, party trays, robadayaki, donburi, udon, yakisoba, and a full tempura lineup, which gave the shop a wider reach than its small footprint suggested.

The closure marks another notable change for the Olympic Village food scene, which has been turning over at a steady clip this year.

Big Way Hot Pot arrived on the block in Winter, bringing the popular hot pot chain to the neighbourhood for the first time.

Hons also shut down its last remaining Vancouver location nearby, removing another longtime fixture from the area’s lineup.

On the incoming side, Little Pisces and Pallet Coffee are both gearing up to open in the area.

For 12 years, Manna Sushi quietly held down its corner of the Olympic Village rotation while the surrounding blocks reshuffled around it.

The team thanked customers in their farewell note, calling the years their community, support, and inspiration, and pointing to the loyalty they had received as the reason the run lasted as long as it did.

For now, the unit sits empty, and there is no word yet on what is moving in next.

We will keep watching the corner and update when a new tenant signs.
