Richmond’s food scene has been busy busy this summer with openings.
It follows the high turnover rate from spring.
Here are 12 of the new food spots in Richmond that opened their doors.
1. POCO RIT Cafe
The Concord Galleria cafe opened quietly in late July, a few minutes from Capstan Station, after posters had advertised spring.
Red Note found it anyway and the app filled up with the place almost immediately.
The room runs bigger than a neighbourhood bakery counter, with exposed silver ductwork and bare concrete block walls, plus a corner where you take your shoes off.

2. Chuan Noodle House
The Chongqing-style noodle spot soft opened August 3 in the old Grandma Liu Hotpot unit, in the plaza regulars call Diabetes Plaza.
Ordering runs through a QR code at each table, and the board carries more than eight noodles, including braised beef brisket, braised intestine, and a signature pork roast noodle soup.

3. Jing Noodle House
The Wuhan-style noodle shop opened in the Parker Place food court unit that Jiang Jiang left behind in July.
You pick a base of Wuhan noodles, rice noodles, or plain rice, then a topping like mala beef, beef tripe, shredded beef, or braised beef.
Staff say the noodles run flatter than most so the mala sauce has more to cling to.

4. Toki
The mint-green matcha trailer from Jeff and Joyce of Teaspoons Co. soft opened July 17 to 19 near the Auto Mall. They spent four months on permits and licenses after years of hauling sinks and tables to pop-ups.
The menu is matcha-forward, with iced lattes built on a choice of Okumidori from Uji or Baikō from Shizuoka.

5. Pika Herb & Tea Co.
A husband and wife team, Henry and Nee, soft opened this herbal bubble tea shop on Alexandra Road in late July.
The tagline is your favorite bubble tea, just healthier, and one menu section is filed under Hair Tonic.
The idea came from getting older and still wanting bubble tea without what usually comes with it.

6. Man Ri Sung
The Aberdeen Centre restaurant that carved Peking duck tableside for a decade opened a food court stall one floor below in July. The duck did not make the trip.
The stall runs a fully Korean menu now, from thin-noodle jajangmyeon and spicy seafood noodle soup to pork bone soup, stone bibimbap, and eight gimbap across the bottom of the board.

7. One Cafe Lansdowne
The Hong Kong-style cafe opened at the Lansdowne Centre food court on July 16, taking over the old Villa Vietnamese unit and making Richmond its third address.
The line ran roughly twenty people deep at lunch on day two. The boards go deep for a food court stall, with a bolo bao series, HK sandwiches, French toast, and all-day breakfast sets.

8. Oakberry
The acai chain grand opened its first Richmond location on July 19 in the Galleria at Concord Gardens, steps from Capstan Station.
The crowd stacked three and four deep at the counter right after opening. Oakberry launched in 2016 and now runs more than 600 stores worldwide, building bowls in layers with fruit, granola, and chia rather than blitzing them.

9. Baskin Robbins Lansdowne
The ice cream chain opened inside Lansdowne Centre on July 31, in the corner the Express Lane post office used to hold, directly across from the T&T Supermarket entrance. It splits into a scoop case on one side and The Cakery on the other, where ice cream cakes sit three shelves deep in pastel buttercream.

10. CK Tea C
The Pacific Plaza food court stall opened June 23 in the old Taikoo Yummy Food unit.
Owners Kee and Anne confirmed to us that they are the team behind Ming Tak, the Hong Kong style restaurant that ran on Granville Street for 24 years before closing in April 2025. The menu is not a straight Ming Tak revival.

11. Jiawei Big Bowl Rice Noodle
The Chinese rice noodle stall opened inside Richmond Public Market in June, taking over the old Hight Dragon Vietnamese unit. Broths rotate through tomato, pickled fish, and pepper pork tripe.
It kept some of the previous tenant’s pho on the menu, and the board brags that it only uses prime beef brisket from Costco.

12. HE MADE
The Cantonese dessert shop opened June 2 in the London Drugs plaza, from four friends who met as international students in high school and university.
It is a modern read on an old-school tong sui house, with warm wooden furniture, a moss-rooted tree under a moon lamp, and an open kitchen behind frosted panels.
The signature is double skin milk, a two-day process on locally sourced milk that is cured, steamed and re-steamed, topped with red bean, peach gum or taro.
Egg tarts come out daily, roasted with caramel and built stockier than the Hong Kong standard.
