The last two tenants in this Yaletown unit did not make it a year between them.
Meros House of Yogurt opened at 1207 Hamilton Street on August 8, and it is betting the room on a product Vancouver does not really have yet.
The shop calls itself a Greek yogurt bar, and we have not found another one in the city that takes it as seriously as they do.
The yogurt is strained in house daily, which is the part worth walking in for.
Fridges of it sit in full display, and straining is what gives Greek yogurt the thick, smooth body that separates it from the stuff in a tub.
All the dairy is sourced from Vancouver Island.
The format is build your own. Twelve dollars for a medium bowl, fifteen for a large.
You pick a base from plain Greek, vanilla Greek, vegan or high protein, then two fruits and one nut or seed from a wall of twelve fruits and eleven nuts and seeds, then two finishes from a list that starts at maple syrup, raw honey and house granola.
Where it stops looking like a breakfast counter is the enhancer list.
Three dollars adds whey protein isolate, creatine monohydrate, bee pollen, cacao nibs or L-glutamine, with another thirteen options behind those.
Creatine in a yogurt bowl is a very 2026 thing to be able to order.
The brand describes itself as built around functional nutrition and intentional ingredients, aimed at a healthy breakfast, post-workout fuel, or a snack that is not a pastry.
In Yaletown, surrounded by gyms and offices, that is not a mysterious bet.
The unit itself is the harder bet.
Grab n Go held it first.
Unni Pastries took it in May 2025 and was gone by mid-July, roughly ten weeks, with no announcement.
So Meros arrives in a space with a short and unhappy recent history, selling a category with no local competition, at a price point that assumes Yaletown will pay twelve dollars for yogurt.
The first of those is a risk. The second is the whole opportunity.
When we first spotted the signage here in April, there was no menu, no pricing and no opening date, just window wraps promising to “elevate the in-between.”
Now there is a room, a price, and fridges of strained yogurt you can see from the door.
Meros joins a run of recently opened Vancouver spots including Chaiiwala on Robson, Mello on Robson, and Unscripted Coffee.
