Richmond’s food and drink scene is booming with new spots opening seemingly every week.
It looks like tea lovers are in for a treat though!
One new addition we’ve spotted is Tea Origin, an upcoming Chinese teahouse located near Richmond Centre (the Priva development) that promises to bring a meticulously curated tea experience to the city.
According to its website, Tea Origin’s philosophy is rooted in the idea of “from farm to table,” offering a farm-direct approach where each tea leaf is carefully selected to ensure the highest quality.
Their focus is on pure, original tea drinks, paired with cultural and creative products designed to immerse guests in a modern take on tea culture.
After conducting field visits and on-site interviews to better understand the heritage and craftsmanship of the tea farmers, Tea Origin brought in a team of appraisers to evaluate dozens of teas, selecting only the finest.
The result is a collection of meticulously sourced and rigorously tested teas, presented after two years of careful preparation.
The menu is just as impressive as the selection process.
Tea Origin will offer a variety of pure teas, medicinal and food drinks, and desserts that complement the tea.
Some of the teas listed on their menu include:
- White Moonlight White Tea (White Tea)
- Forest of Ancient Black Tea (Yunnan Wild Forest)
- Yaan Snow Jasmine Tea (Jasmine Tea)
- Keemun Black Tea (Black Tea Queen)
- Taiping Houkui Green Tea (Crown of Tip Tea)
- 08 Imperial Puerh Tea (Puerh)
- Spring Equinox (Bloom of Spring)
- Royal Chrysanthemum (High in Flavonoids)
They also offer Three Taste selections for a more complex tea experience, with options like Forest of Ancient Three Taste and Taiping Houkui Three Taste.
For those looking for a more health-focused option, their Traditionally Medicinal drinks include teas like Royal Chrysanthemum (high in flavonoids) and King Peony (high in paeoniflorin), adding a functional benefit to your tea enjoyment.
Tea Origin joins other popular teahouses like Paragon Tea Room, which is set to open its Richmond outpost beside Parker Place this September.
Together, they’re shaping Richmond’s tea scene into a hub for serious tea enthusiasts.
Keep your eyes peeled for its opening and be ready to indulge in a tea experience like no other.
And don’t forget to share this news with your tea-loving friends!
