Affordable Vancouver Japanese DIY Noodle & Oden Bar Quietly Closes

It looks like Vancouver has lost another affordable dining gem.

Genki Eki, a spot for its cheap eats, has quietly closed its West Broadway location.

Though Google still marks it as temporarily closed, all signs suggest it’s gone for good—both their website and Instagram have vanished, and their unit had been up for sale earlier this year.

The signs are quite clear – Genki Eki is gone for good.

Genki Eki first opened in 2022, bringing a unique DIY Japanese noodle experience to Vancouver.

With its subway station-themed interior, the DIY noodle bar and oden stations allowed customers to craft their perfect meal.

It was a quick, easy lunch option that stood out for its simplicity and price.

For just $8.99, you could pick your noodle type, soup base, protein, and toppings, making it a fun and affordable stop for anyone craving a custom noodle fix.

But with their unit on the market for over six months, this closure was not a huge surprise.

Genki Eki now joins the ranks of other recent West Broadway closures like Simit’s Bakery and Yushang Hot Pot.
