With so many restaurants participating, it was once a low-cost way to discover new places, but times have changed (not the fault of the festival or restaurants). Inflation and rising costs mean that restaurants are less likely to be able to provide a really good deal and diners are more aware of their budgets now than ever before.
And we’re not different – we’re being more frugal these days as well.
That’s why we’ve taken a look through all the participating Dine Out restaurants, separated them into their menu pricing tiers, and only included the ones that we think are:

Ancora is a highly-rated Peruvian Japanese restaurant with a classy interior and a stunning water view. Their Lunch Dine Out menu makes for a good introduction to this seafood-forward spot, as you’d usually walk out of their spending well over $40/pp. This means you get to enjoy the view and get the taste of this fancy spot on a discount.
Dubbed the ‘King of Tsukemen’ by its loyal fans in Japan, Menya Itto was awarded the Tabelog awards for best ramen in Japan since 2010. Although their Dine Out Menu doesn’t include their signature Tsukemen, the 3 courses will still likely satisfy you and your wallet.
This gem of a spot in Gastown is returning to this year’s Dine Out with multiple menus, that will surely fit each person and their wants. Their brunch & lunch menu specifically features 3 courses, each with some of steller options that give a great preview of their Italian West Coast flavours.
If you’re in the mood for a little luxury and affordable elegance in the heart of downtown, then a trip make a trip to Hawksworth. Their Dine Out menu makes for a good excuse for you and a friend to scope out the award-winning spot, to see if has the potential for a special occasion destination in the future.
Las Margaritas is the longstanding Mexican cuisine heaven in Kitsilano. Not just the food and drink, you will have an instant crush with its upbeat and energetic vibe here. So for 3 courses at $25, it is hella worth it.

Even though opening at the beginning of the pandemic, the South East Asian hawker-styled restaurant quickly sprung onto the scene and developed a name for itself. Depending on the item you pick for the 2 courses on the Dine Out menu, you may be getting a great discount compared to ordering the items regularly.

Located in the heart of Downtown Vancouver, Alouette Bistro is a classic French destination with West Coast flavors. Unlike other French restaurants that remain loyal to their French roots, Alouette Bistro offers you a unique and creative range of dishes that showcase the beauty and variety of British Columbia.
Considering it is a classy spot, the 3 course Dine Out menu makes for a good taster of what Alouette can do.
