2. Oca Pastificio

An Italian shrine and Michelin Bib Gourmand, Oca Pastificio is known for its fresh and heavenly handcrafted pasta and a menu that changes daily to highlight seasonal, fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. The space is intimate, and if you’re lucky, you could have a front-row seat to watch the chef skillfully and effortlessly making pasta, stretching and slicing the dough by hand.

Yes, their menu keeps changing daily; but, what’s constant is the varieties of fresh pasta made from scratch, and the satisfying feeling you get after your meal.

You really have to try the veal ragu at Oca Pastificio, and the perfect pasta to go with it would be Pappardelle. The thickness of the pasta acts as a beautiful canvas for the rich and velvety ragu. It is so good that you cannot get enough!

Oca’s Rotolo is a fav dish among locals. This is essentially protracted ravioli with a squash or cheese filling (depending on the day’s menu), with crimped ends, and the pasta is then twirled to form a little crown, and served drizzled with browned sage butter. This is simple and delicious Italian food presented well.

Though the restaurant is a pasta haven, you can also get a bomb ass Risotto here. Their Leek Taleggio Risotto with Walnuts blew us away with its depth in flavor; the taleggio cheese is mixed into the risotto evenly without making it overpowering, and the walnuts play really well with the cheese, resulting in an interesting and gratifying dish.

Note: no reservations are available so it is recommended you try your luck at 4:30 PM to wait in line for the 5 PM seating.

What to order: Pappardelle with Veal Ragu, Rotolo, Leek Taleggio Risotto with Walnuts

How We Create Our “Best” Lists

All Noms Magazine’s “best” lists are created using multiple factors and signals to help readers find the best restaurants, things to do, and places to stay at. Some of these factors and signs include personal experiences, correspondence with locals, and compiling experiences from review sites.

Each list is also created to be balanced (in terms of price, cuisine type, ambiance, and more) as possible. This means that the lists are not specifically created in ranking order. You should be comfortable picking from any of the spots on the list and generally have a good time. But of course, YMMV (your mileage may vary) and everyone may have different experiences/palates.
