Whether it is to kick back some beers in downtown or a casual brunch with your safe bubble, these 20 best patios in Vancouver are ones you don’t want to skip on a sun-lit day.
If you’re all about aesthetics and cute vibes, then The Roof patio at the top of Black & Blue would be the best choice in the city. Recently the rooftop patio reopened with a garden theme that is STUNNING. It is decked out with a designed patio garden, complete with a feature wall made out of wood, and mounted with floating candles and lush foliage suspended above.
For food, try the jumbo tiger prawns cocktail, or share some Steak House Nachos. Feast on some Japanese Kobe Rib-eye, with some Fingerling Potatoes on the side.
This patio is perfect for photos and a menu that won’t break the bank.

We’ve been calling the Keefer Yard the new gem of the city, as there aren’t many spots like it. You got your snacks, your drinks, good vibes and music, and some mini-golf action there – there’s nothing to complain about.
Enjoy a Gimlet, and munch on some delish Hunan Pickles. Share a plate of Brisket Bao, Sweet & Sour Meatballs, or their super yummy Peking Duck Crepes.
Plus – it is a perfect date spot if you’re around Chinatown.
P.S. their happy hour drops on the weekdays from 2PM – 4PM and is covered when the weather isn’t so nice.

Enjoy some fresh oysters, or a vegetarian ceviche. Their spicy tuna rolls are amazing, so give them a try, or share the soft-shell crab tacos. For your main, we recommend the Lobster and Shrimp Risotto. Basically…come here if you’re feeling seafood.

Touted as the one-star Michelin brunch joint, OEB Breakfast in Yaletown has the patio and food that will make anyone’s day. Their brunch is stellar, yet creative. And the view lets you enjoy a dose of people watching and the outdoor view of the water.
Dig into a Traditional Benny, or their Get Shorty Rib Poutine. Try the Chunky Lobster Scramble, or go for gold with some Hog and Scallops. If you’re in the mood for a hearty sandwich, go for The Big Ahi Tuna. You won’t regret it.
And if you fancy for a pick-me-up, their mimosa flight will do the trick.

This is the place to go for a great brunch, and for good reason. Cafe Medina wows diners with their super scrumptious dishes, and friendly service. They have a decent patio, and maybe not with the best view, but they more than make up for it with their wonderful food.
You can’t visit this spot without trying the waffles, because they are insanely delish, and come with mind-blowing toppings not many can resist. If not that, then go for their Wolves Breakfast, or a yummy Frittata.

If you want an epic atmosphere around your table, then Water St. Cafe is the place for you. Set in the heart of historical Gastown, and just across from the iconic Steam Clock, with classic cobblestone streets, and beautiful old buildings surrounding it, this spot transports everyone to another era, and it is worth a visit.
Start off with some West Coast Crab Cakes, or share the Chickpea Hummus. The Meatball and Gnocchi is a must-try House Speciality, and if not that then pasta! Which one? We suggest the Rigatoni with Italian Sausage.

With the newly designed, and whopping 1,765-square-foot patio, Coal Harbour H Tasting Lounge is all set to offer guests yet more memorable dining experiences. The 50-seat space boasts chic lounge furniture, a fireplace that runs the length of the patio, and of course classic cocktails and cuisine.
Start off with some Truffle Fries, or go classic with a fresh Caesar Salad. The fish tacos are amazing, and we recommend you try them. If you’re vegan, get the burger. Meat lovers should definitely try the HTL Smash Burger.
Tip: Happy Hour is daily from 3-5pm, with a wonderful selection of signature cocktails and bar menu.

A place that needs no introduction. Joe Fortes, as everyone knows, is not just a Robson Streetseafood eatery, it’s an institution that rests in the very heart of Vancouver’s dining scene. So, go enjoy a satisfying meal up on their outdoor rooftop garden, that just bursts with color and life.
The menu here is huge, but don’t get overwhelmed. Just go for the Lobster Roll, or some Cajun Crab. We wouldn’t miss out on the Chicken Waffle either. Pair your meal with a glass of wine, or a delicious cocktail.

Start off with the Skyline Platter, or some Slow Roasted Barbeque Ribs. Indulge yourself with Grass-fed Rack of Lamb, cooked to perfection in their wood fired grill. For dessert? A fresh and popping Sunburnt Lemon Pie.

With its chic and charming French patio, and classic bistro cuisine, Jules is that one spot not many can resist. Located on Abbot Street in none other than gorgeous Gastown, this is the spot to go for some casual bites alone or with a friend.
Enjoy some yummy seared scallops, or even a Fish & Chip. For something more hearty, try the Duck Confit Cassoulet, and round off with a delicious Vanilla Creme Brulee, or a Chocolate tart.

There’s no better place to relax at than Livia Sweets on Commercial. This charming Insta-worthy bakery and cafe offers guests a super cute 16-seat patio which has taken its popularity to the next level. Serving up artisan baguettes, potato buns, and other seasonal creations, this is a must-stop for any and everyone.
Dig into their Daily Eggs & Toast, or go for the Breakfast Sandwich loaded with a soft scramble, pickled onion, and a side of soup or salad. For something more hearty, the Spaghetti Carbonara and Lasagne Bolognese are simply divine!

Dig into a hearty skillet of house-smoked pork belly, sautéed apples, potato hash, and grainy mustard hollandaise, or for something heartier, get their signature Uni-versal Pasta. Also, try their waffles, because… Why not? And, for a delish side, the Truffle Parmesan Potatoes.

16. Brunch Vancouver – Granville Street (downtown)
Your breakfast table away from home, and yet another spot offering a soothing street-view patio. Brunch Vancouver is where you go for a delightful Mexican meal, comfort food, and to leave your troubles behind.
There’s a lot of delish food to choose from on the menu, and everything is worth a try. We recommend the Enchiladas Suizas, or the Turkey & Cheese Torta. If its eggs you crave, then the Classic Benny it is, and for something sweeter… Pancakes!

And, then there’s Yuwa, the award-winning spot that brings you a lush and stunning patio-dining experience in a style all their own. With its deep green foliage and bright pops of red umbrellas, everything about this eatery is cheerful and perfect for a pick-me-up meal.
Enjoy a light and crispy Tempura with a sweet dashi broth and a savory matcha salt. The nigiri is just amazing here, and we recommend the Hon Maguro Chutoro. The smalls plates and shares are also good, so go for The Chef’s Sashimi Selection. You won’t be sorry!

Honolulu Coffee boasts a patio that is contemporary and stylishly chic, along with pure Kona coffee, and super scrumptious baked goods. Visit, and it will feel like a true Hawaiian vacation. Trust us, we’re not kidding!
Try their classic Hawaiian Latte, or the Sakura Latte with a chocolate croissant on the side, and some Guava Bread too. The Bacon and Cheddar Scones are just too good to miss, or if you want something healthier, go for a fresh Acai Bowl.

For some brew without a roof, there is Main Street Brewing. Offering a casually cool outdoor patio, that is wide, spacious and perfect for some down time, this is another must-visit spot you shouldn’t miss.
Tacos. Taps. Dips. Dunks. Their words, not ours. They’ve got it all and with barrels of fun. Grab a Pilsner, Lager, Pale or Brown Ale, and munch on their super collab offers from popular eateries like Taps & Tacos, and AJ’s Brooklyn Pizza Joint.

It’s quaint, it’s charming, and it’s Italian. It’s Di Beppe, and who doesn’t love them? We know you do, and you’ll love dining out on their relaxing patio even more. Go there for the old-world atmosphere, and some classic Italian bites.
If you’re here, you can’t miss their pizza, and definitely not the margherita with mozzarella di bufala. Dig into a hearty Pomodoro, or Carbonara, and finish off with a classic cannoli, or the tiramisu.
